Richard Gormley is a Canadian Kinesiologist (BSc K) currently based in the South of France. He has specialised in aquatics and group exercise since 2005 (AEA, ACE, AFAA, RYT-200). He has presented Aqua Zumba in 56 countries. Whether teaching locally or presenting internationally, he strives to lead with light, passion, and enthusiasm at every pool.
Sat 3pm – Empowering Our Clients – Lisa Westlake
Many of our participants choose aqua fitness to accommodate their various conditions and limitations. Finding the balance between managing their condition, boosting their fitness and avoiding aggravating a condition can seem daunting but can be greatly assisted by empowering our clients with a positive approach and helpful hints.
In this session we will take a look at a few common conditions and then consider how we can empower our participants to nurture their needs. With the use positive language and a few simple teaching tips we can encourage our clients to get the maximum benefit from each and every class.
Lisa Westlake is a highly renowned fitness professional, author and presenter and a passionate aqua instructor on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. She combines physiotherapy and fitness to provide a range of health and fitness programs. Lisa has been honoured with many awards including “Outstanding contribution to the Australian Fitness industry” in 2014 as well being inducted to “Fitness Australia’s Roll of Honour” in 2017.

Primal Aqua explores the dynamic realm of primal movement patterns in the water. Just as our ancestors moved instinctively to survive and thrive, we too can harness the power of primal movements to enhance our aqua programming – all within the refreshing, supporting embrace of the aquatic environment.
Debi Godfrey is an Australian based Aqua Fitness Leader, with a career that spans three decades. Since earning her qualification through SAWFA in 1995, Debi has been motivating countless participants and instructors to embrace the benefits of water-based fitness routines. She has a passion for innovation and a commitment to excellence. Driven by a desire to continually push boundaries, Debi has created several ground-breaking programs that have helped shape Aqua Fitness. Among her creations are the Liquid Barre Program, Liquid Barre: Extension Program, Aqua Global Rhythms Program, and the Primal Aqua Program. These innovative programs have garnered acclaim for their effectiveness and versatility, attracting practitioners from around the globe.
Debi remains dedicated to empowering others to achieve their fitness goals through the power of water. With a legacy of leadership and innovation, Debi continues to shape the future of Aqua Fitness, inspiring individuals to embrace a healthier, more vibrant lifestyle.

Sun 8.15am – Aqua Flow – Claire Barker Hemings
This innovative session showcases the principles of traditional Pilates, Ai Chi and Yoga combined with the buoyancy and resistance of water to create strength, flexibility, and overall body workouts. Potential health outcomes for clients can include improved core activation, focused breath control, better balance and stability while reducing strain on the joints. Discover how to incorporate controlled flowing movements in the water to transform your water workouts, and help revitalise your client’s body and mind.
Claire Barker-Hemings is a highly regarded Aqua Fitness Specialist and Pilates Instructor from Melbourne Australia. For over 10 years Claire has delivered aqua fitness workshops internationally and new instructor trainings across Australia. In 2022 Claire was nominated for AUSactive’s ‘Educator of the Year’.
Sun 9.30am – Short Noodle Showdown – Dom Gili
Don’t be fooled by the humble noodle. They look harmless but combined with the water they create a challenging workout experience. Short Noodle Showdown targets upper body, core and abdominal muscles with grounded, dynamic and suspended moves. Using a shorter noodle (half length) means the noodle can move faster through the water to improve cardio response, improve muscle engagement, balance and coordination.
Dom Gili is an Aqua Fitness Specialist from Sydney Australia, renowned for his engaging and challenging water workouts. As the founder of Aqua Fitness Online and cofounder of Aqua Alliance, he aims to inspire and educate people of the transformative benefits aqua exercise. With a reputation for innovation and a commitment to excellence, Dom continues to redefine the aqua fitness landscape, one splash at a time.
Sun 10.45am – Vocal Health & Effective Communication – Josh Piterman
In this interactive session, you’ll explore the power of your voice and how it can be best used and heard for safe and effective expression. You’ll play with various vocal and breath exercises and learn how to communicate in ways that amplify connection.
Josh Piterman is a singer, actor, author, podcaster and speaker best known for being the first Australian to play the roles of The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera and Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, on the London’s West End.
He is also the founder of Behind The Mask. A #2 charted self improvement podcast, book and coaching business, which helps awaken people to; presence, passion, purpose, and their true unbounded and infinite nature.
