Using a stick or a noodle as a target to work with, many new exercises with different purposes occur! In this workshop you will learn how to use the stick or the noodle in different ways, especially in handpositioning and purposeful exercises. It will not only give you new ideas, but it will also provide exercises for a FUNctional workout!
Katrien has over 20 years of experience in the Aqua Fitness industry. She is an International Trainer Specialist for AEA, member of the Advisory Committee of AEA, an AiChi MasterTrainer and has a post-bachelor certificate in aquatic therapy.
Liquid Pilates – Claire Barker-Hemings (Melbourne)
Transform the pool into a Pilates studio! Pilates programs have proven to be quite popular in the water over the last decade. This session shows how you can adapt Pilates mat, reformer and Wunda Chair exercises using noodles, hand buoys and the water’s properties. Claire teaches studio Pilates and has strived to replicate the authenticity of moves you would do in a mat class or with equipment, such as a reformer or Wunda Chair.

Deepwater Workouts Combinations – Dom Gili (Sydney)
Deepwater workouts (or suspended shallow) have the potential to be the most challenging of all water workouts. The suspended environment creates the perfect platform for cardio and strength training and combining dynamic workouts demands good core recruitment. In this session Dom will use underwater footage to analyse technique and demonstrate numerous workout combinations that you can use in your classes to help clients get the most out of every water workout.
