Learn how to apply different stances for improved kinetic chain reaction, improved posture and gait, and build strong foundations for effective grounded and dynamic movement in the water. Katrien Lemahieu of The Netherlands is the founder of KatAqua.nl and is a globally recognised aquatics professional with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Her educational background is extensive, including degrees in physical education, Special Movement Education, and Child Psychology. Katrien’s passion for aquatics led her to become a co-designer of successful programs such as BioExercise and HydroRevolution.

Aqua Highs and Lows – This energising session will investigate how both high and low intensity workouts affect the nervous system. Higher intensity training stimulates the sympathetic nervous system to speed up heart rate and deliver more oxygen to areas of your body. Where as lower intensity training focusing on alignment, posture and breathing can create space for the parasympathetic nervous system responsible for the body’s rest and digestion response. And maybe more importantly, undoes the work of sympathetic system after a busy day or stressful situation. The perfect mix for a full mind and body water workout! Cristina (Tinoca) Senra is a passionate, dedicated and charismatic fitness educator with more than 25 years of industry experience. Tinoca has a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology, is founder of Portuguese aquatic education organisation Mundro Hidro and is and Education Program Director for Fitness Academy-Portugal. In the last decade Tinoca has dedicated her time to work with special population groups using osteopathy techniques. As an international presenter, Tinoca has developed several programs such as Aquayoga; AquaFit Board; Cognitive degeneration; Pregnancy and Post partum.
Belt Up & Get Splashing – There is something about being in the water that makes most people feel relaxed and friendly. As a result some aqua fitness participants spend much of the class talking to others and give very little attention to their alignment, the instructor, or the movements they are being asked to perform. This can have negative impact for the distracted talkers, other participants, and the instructor. This session offers a variety of strategies to bring your class to attention with dignity, humour (when possible), and mutual respect. You and your participants will love the results! Connie Jasinskas is founder of the aquatic training org ForTheLoveOfFit.com and brings over 30 years of experience, passion and humour to her work as an international health educator. In Cambridge, Canada, she provides aquatic fitness and rehabilitation for people with a wide range of needs. She specialises in pain education, AquaStretch, and aquatic fitness leadership training in a variety of specialties. Her enthusiastic approach to active learning will help you put theory into practice.

Katy Coffey is an AEA Aquatic Training Specialist from Boston, USA, Katy holds over 30 additional fitness certifications for both land and aquatic fitness training including AFAA/NASM Certified Group Exercise Instructor & Personal Trainer, Master Trainer with HydroRevolution , Aqua Body Strong and S’WET. Working in aquatics since 2002, she has a passion for innovative programming and helping change the perception of aquatic fitness in the USA.
The Neurobiology of Exercise – A balance of theory and practical advice, this workshop explores the fascinating world of exercise biology and neurobiology and the myriad of different ways that exercise benefits the brain. Paul will also reveal the evidence-based benefits of exercise in the prevention and treatment of a range of brain diseases and conditions, including Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Depression and Anxiety. A former British Royal Navy Aircrew Officer and former Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco, Paul Taylor is a Neuroscientist, Exercise Physiologist and Nutritionist who is currently completing a PhD in Applied Psychology, where he is developing and testing resilience strategies with the Australian Defence Science Technology Group & The University of Newcastle.
Paul is the host of The Paul Taylor Podcast, and his latest venture is The Mental Fitness Project, an online program and App that is currently used by a number of Corporations and has proven benefits for resilience, mental wellbeing and levels of burnout of participants.
